Ross Saldan

Ross is a very experienced coach, sports trainer and currently holds several Canadian Powerlifting records - read why this important below in An Experienced Mechanic for your Body. Ross is very knowledgeble in proper exercise technique and positive mental goal achievement. He has been a competitive athlete all of his life and has competed in many sports, including alpine ski racing, international tennis competion, bicycle racing and currently national and international powerlifting competions. But, he is an even better coach than athlete. Ross has had certifications as a Canadian Ski Instructor, the Ontario Provincial Regional Tennis Coach and as a Powerlifting Metal Militia Personal Trainer and Coach. More importantly, Ross has had real world experience training top athletes in their sports. He is one of the only coaches that coached three complete beginners to achieve the top 20 All-time Historical World Rankings in Powerlifting. He trained his own daughter who at 30 years old had never bench pressed and withing one year and a half became ranked the number one in the U.S. in bench press in her category and number 18 in All-Time World Rankings. 

Training
We focus on functional training using full body exercises, This means that you will use your big muscle groups first and also use the most muscles at the same time. Most importantly, you will develop a strong functional core. This will help you walk taller and carry more grocery bags at the same time.

Our training is not only the most efficient use of your time, but it will provide you quicker results than any other type of training. Because we use full body exercises, you will use more muscles at the same time. 

This is the complete opposite of how most other personal trainers will train you. They will show you how to use machines and if they do use free weights, they will focus only on single muscle groups with finishing exercises without actually improving your core functional muscles. Machines were designed for rehabilitation purposes only and to use light weight to help repair injuries. Medicine balls, well let's just say we won't ever waste your time by putting you on a medicine ball. Not only is the type of training offered by most other personal trainers not efficient and not effective, it can also be very wrong for you and can produce injuries. Why? Because by training only specific muscles individually, you stand the chance of becoming out of balance and out of balance muscles set you up for injury.

When I was required to move to another province for a two year project, I needed to find a new mechanic for my car. Being very particular about who worked on my car, I wanted a mechanic that I not only trusted but one that really knew what he or she was doing. When I arrived in the new town, I drove around after normal closing hours to see the different repair garages. Most were closed of course, but one was open at midnight. Lights were on and the mechanic was working and in the lot there were several racing stock cars. This meant to me that this mechanic was experienced in performance tuning and he took his work seriously.

I took my car to get repaired to this racing mechanic. And, I was very pleased when I picked up the car all fixed. Not only did they fix my car quickly, but they cost less because they worked quicker and on top of that, he said he fixed and adjusted a few more things on my car that they saw needed adjusting and they didn't charge me any extra for it. That's the value of a real world experienced professional.
